The second manifestation of the Byas group includes Buck Clayton (tp), Johnny Guarnieri (p), Eddie Safranski (b), J.C. Heard (d). The Quartet includes Johnny Guarnieri (p), Eddie Safranski (b), J.C. Heard (d). The Dave Tough Quintette includes Joe Thomas (tp), Ted Nash (ts), Bernie Leighton (p), Jack Lesburg (b). Recorded in New York City on the 9th of January 1946. Horace Henderson And His Orchestra features Buck Clayton (tp), Eddie Bert (tb), Hank d’ Amico and Aaron Sachs (cl), Hy White (g), Billy taylor (b), specs Powell (d). Recorded in New York City on the 16th of March 1945. Skip Hall And His Band includes Buck Clayton (tp), George Stevenson (tb), Vincent Bair-Bey (as), Buddy Tate (ts), Dave McRae (bs), Archie “Skip” Hall (p/arr), Walter Page (b), Herbie Lovell (d), Warren Evans (voc). Recorded in New York City during June 1945. It is rare that an assemblage of such talented musicians can be heard on one CD and we commend this to you.
