It seems today the musical world is full of guitarists some excellent and some less so, but on this superb CD we have not one but three of the all time great jazz guitarists, Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis and Charlie Byrd performing “live” in Paris on the 17th of November 1981 accompanied by Joe Byrd on bass and Chuck Redd drums. There is also a “live” bonus track recorded at Jazz at the Maintenance Shop, Ames, IO, to which guitarist Tom Jobim has been added and where Wayne Phillips replaces Chuck Redd on drums. Total playing time: 54:17.
